Livestock-Wildlife Survaillance in Bwindi-Mgahinga Conservation Area

Two weeks were spent in Bwindi-Mgahinga Conservation Area  with Veterinarians from Spain (5)  who were involved in livestock health intervations through mass deworming of cattle, sheep, goats and pigs. Dogs were vaccinated against rabies, dewormed and surgeries perfomed on some dogs. Samples were collected for varoius diagnostics both on site and referal laboratories. The turn up  was huge and farmers were full of excitement as thier animals recieved the intensive care that  is rarely available in this region. The purpose of this livestock  and human health survaillance is to improve thier livelihoods that will eventually lead to improving the health of the mt gorillas in BMCA.

Thanks to the team
